Former BT Group Director of Talent, Leadership & Diversity joins as Culture & Inclusion Director

Updated: May 14

We’re delighted to announce that Simone Marquis has joined our growing team as Culture & Inclusion Director.

Having most recently led senior positions at Marks & Spencer, BT and EE, Simone joins to expand our services to offer inside out inclusion - building cultural confidence and inclusion competence across teams, brands and businesses - and to expand a team delivering on inclusive culture change within organisations.

She joins a newly formed leadership team alongside Simone Harvey, Inclusive Campaigns Director, leading inclusive brand and communications campaigns; and Ruth Hoyal, Insights & Strategy Director, bringing inclusive insights to organisations to transform their D&I approach through data and intelligence. The team is led by Managing Partner, Ben Brooks-Dutton, and Founder & CEO, Asad Dhunna.

Asad Dhunna, CEO said of the appointment: “When starting a business you can only dream of getting top calibre team members like Simone joining. After a year of rapid growth we’re able to take things to another level and provide a more holistic approach to D&I to our growing base of client partners. Simone is extremely impressive and has hit the ground running, leading transformative work for our clients around belonging, inclusion and anti-racism”.

Simone Marquis added: “Finding the right fit professionally and personally was a priority for me. While there are many new roles around D&I appearing in the market, The Unmistakables was the most natural culture fit. The opportunity is huge: bringing a comprehensive inside out approach to inclusion to organisations working right across the C-suite, and we’re already starting to see results”.

Our growing team also includes Shilpa Saul, former Head of Communications at Royal Caribbean International, Lornette Harley, former Account Manager at Talker Tailor Trouble Maker and Cathia Randrianarvio, Senior Insight Lead at dunnhumby.

Ben Brooks-Dutton, Managing Partner said: “The last 12 months have afforded us the opportunity to accelerate a business and culture that is collaborative, caring and inclusive by design. Over half of our team have never worked in an office together and a third of us have been raising and teaching children through lockdowns. This has made us really focus on setting an example for other businesses, embodying the inclusive strategies we build for our client partners. We are honoured that such remarkable individuals have come together to collectively take our business to the next level.”

We are currently hiring at a number of levels - e-mail ourselves@theunmistakables.com if you’re interested in joining our team.
